TecNiq Inc., founded in 2004, designs and manufactures high quality, energy-efficient LED lighting products for fleet vehicles, construction trailers, emergency response vehicles, boats, recreational vehicles, and much more. To continue TecNiq’s rapid growth and expansion, we are looking for a self-motivated highly energetic Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading the accounting department, maintaining GAAP compliance, generating financial reports, monthly, quarterly and year end closing, auditing and reconciliation responsibilities, GL balancing, support for tax and regulatory compliance as well as general departmental processes. This position reports to the Executive Vice President.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the daily operations and guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Processes monthly, quarterly and year end closings.
- Ensure GAAP compliance through account controls, auditing and reconciliations on a periodic basis.
- Supervise AP, AR, Cash Books, Cost Accounting, General Ledger and WIP.
- Prepares special financial reports by compiling, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Documents and maintains financial processes and controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Assists Executive VP with annual budgeting, monthly and quarterly variance reporting, and other tasks as needed.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential by following internal controls.
- Process payroll and related journal entries.
- Follow appropriate review processes and make recommendations for promotions and salary adjustments.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to develop and establish financial policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision
- Ability to effectively direct and supervise accounting department staff.
- Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing in a high part volume production environment.
- Excellent skills in Excel
- SYSPRO ERP system, SQL and general data analysis competence are preferred.
Education and Work Experience Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting.
- Four years experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory management.
