Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Coordinator to join our team in the construction industry. As an Accounting Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. This role requires a solid ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Support reseption area with administrative duties, such as answering calls and greeting guests
- Maintain accurate records of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Enter invoices and reconcile them with statements and purchase orders
- Monitor accounts to ensure timely payment and follow up on any overdue accounts
- Process payments received and reconcile with accounts receivable records
- Process expense reports / per diem checks to eligible employees.
- Manage vendor accounts and process payments to suppliers
- Reconcile accounts payable records to ensure accuracy and timely payment
- Issue purchase orders to employees
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations
- Stamps and sorts incoming mail. Separates into batch categories: those to be reviewed for processing by Project Managers and Service Department
- Accounts Receivable duties include reviewing AR to send out intent to lien notices monthly.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 1-2 years of experience in accounts receivable and accounts payable functions
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
