PROJECT SUMMARY
Consultant for our Accounting team. Project will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding accounts receivable balances from customers or clients. Some of the typical responsibilities of an A/R Collections Consultant include:
- Developing and implementing collection strategies to minimize outstanding receivables and ensure timely payment.
- Monitoring accounts receivable aging reports and identifying delinquent accounts.
- Manage month-end close procedures and execution around accounts receivable including providing insights into DSO metrics and bad debt reserves.
- Contacting customers to follow up on overdue payments and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Negotiating payment plans or settlements with customers in arrears.
- Collaborating with sales, customer service, and other teams to address customer payment issues.
- Analyzing accounts receivable data and trends to improve collection processes.
- Manage AR aging reports and provide weekly/monthly/ad-hoc reporting and key AR metrics to management.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations.
- Work directly with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure audit readiness.
- Overall, the A/R Collections Consultant plays a crucial role in optimizing cash flow, reducing bad debt, and maintaining healthy relationships with customers while meeting collection targets.
This role will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer. This project is anticipated to last 3 months.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- BA/BS in Accounting/Finance or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience in an accounts receivable/collections role.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to work with a wider global team and across different time zones as required.
- Technology-savvy, including Google Suite and NetSuite.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel using pivot tables.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and juggle various tasks.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work in a well-organized manner.
- Ability to take ownership and be accountable.
