As an Accounting Clerkyou will report to the Payroll Managerwhile working with others throughout the organization to support all aspects of the accounting team.

This full–time, seasonal position (April – November) will be critical in supporting the accounting team in the accurate processing of payroll and financial transactions and providing administrative support as needed throughout the construction season.

Essential Duties & Position Responsibilities:

Payroll Expenses and Administrative Support:

  • Receive, process, audit and track payroll for temporary employment agencies.
  • Support payroll in auditing pay rates to ensure accuracy.
  • Produce, assemble, and mail all certified payroll reports for Duininck, Inc. on prevailing wage projects.
  • Receive, process, audit and track all certified payroll reports for all subcontractors and third party trucking companies working on prevailing wage projects.
  • Assist in payroll entry and compilation of paystubs weekly.
  • Enter and process all company credit card transactions.
  • Process and verify the credit card transactions against receipts and report the expenses to departmental managers for approval.
  • Assist in the processing of invoices and vendor checks daily.
  • Receive and verify invoices for products using a purchase order system.
  • General office duties including picking up the mail, filing, ordering office supplies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Associate degree or equivalent of work experience.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) is preferred, not required.
  • Encompass strong business and financial acumen, data analysis, and analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach who can adapt easily to a fast-paced environment
  • Effective multitasking while remaining detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team of professionals.
