Thompson Pipe Group is currently looking for an Accounting Clerk. He/ She will be responsible for processing invoices to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, reviewing purchase orders, and processing payments.

Essential Functions

• Processes accounts payable invoices in accounting software which involves sorting, data entry, coding general ledger account, and scanning/filing payment packet.
• Prepares bi-monthly check runs, submits weekly ACH requests, and makes miscellaneous payments via vendor portals.
• Research/follows-up on processing problems which include contacting both internal departments and outside parties to resolve inquiries.
• Timely resolve inquiries from vendors and multiple entities, including correspondences via phone, fax and E-mail
• Records cash receipts in accounting software and scans/files supporting documents.
• Assists with month-end close processes including but not limited to:
  • reconciling cash deposits and payments
  • confirming subledgers agree with general ledger
  • reviewing key accounts
• Prepares and files monthly sales and use tax submittals to State Agencies.
• Assists with annual 1099 filings.
• Assists with gathering supporting documents for annual audit.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

• Proficient in using MS Excel, outlook, Adobe PDF, or equivalent tools.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
• Previous experience with IFS, Sage 100 ERP systems a plus.
• 2+ years of Accounting clerk experience a plus.
