General Purpose:
To perform payroll, billing and collection functions for assigned branch or branches. Responsible for all aspects of client/patient billing and collections for designated branches, included but not limited to performing the billing function, ensuring timely payment, collections and follow up. Ensures services rendered are paid within 60 days. Recommends, provides input and may develop policies, processes, and resources to evaluate and improve the billing and accounts receivable collection effectiveness and efficiency for the branch(es).
Essential Functions including but not limited to:
- Performs all branch payroll activities, including, but not limited to transferring/inputting client orders to the system, organizing and inputting time slips, verifying visits for each client, calculating pay, making appropriate deductions, auditing input and processing weekly payroll.
- Work with Medicaid, commercial insurance/ long term care insurance companies as needed.
- Complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations regarding the payroll function using appropriate accounting standards.
- Update census accordingly and keep up with all authorizations/send requests for new authorizations in a timely manner before the current authorizations expire.
- Send monthly report via excel to VA.
- Check E-CAP (CAP/C and CAP/DA) regularly as well as QiReport-PCS.
- Provides management with needed payroll reports via excel, etc.
- Generates billing information from the system and sends to appropriate party.
- Provides reports and information to management on billing activities, as needed.
- Performs collection functions, including, but not limited to running the aging report on uncollected monies, separating charts, calling and writing letters insurance companies, patients, BC/BS regarding uncollected monies, and communicating to management on the status of various accounts. May develop action plan on how to proceed with collections as a whole and/or with specific accounts.
- Provides input to management on methods and procedures to promote the collection of monies owed and the reduction of average days outstanding.
- Answer phones and send to the correction individual or use Intake Form to complete potential client information.
- Performs other assignments as requested and based on the needs of the company in other areas of the business.
- May have access to personal health information (“PHI”) necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Access to use and ability to disclose PHI is further defined by each organization/department.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Billing, and/or payroll and/or collections experience, preferred.
- Must be honest and transparent in all business functions.
- Detail oriented.
