Degan, Blanchard & Nash, a mid-sized insurance defense firm, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Assistant. This role will provide essential support to our finance department, assisting with various accounting tasks and ensuring the smooth financial operations of the firm. Key Responsibilities:
Support the Billing Manager in preparing and processing invoices for clients.
Assist in meeting monthly billing deadlines for clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Help provide budget information to attorneys for ongoing matters.
Assist in providing rate and billing information for newly opened legal matters.
Facilitate the emailing of electronic and non-electronic bills to clients as needed.
Collaborate with attorneys to assist in entering time entries into Coyote as needed.
Work closely with the Accounting Specialist to facilitate posting of collections and accounts payable.
Support the accounting team with ad hoc tasks and projects.

Qualifications:
Minimum of a college degree with coursework in accounting or finance preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Familiarity with legal billing software such as Coyote is a plus
