JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
An Accounting Analyst assists the Director and other members of Management in all areas of accounting, financial reporting and related activities in support of the operational aspects of all strategies, initiatives and operational elements on a system-wide basis. Key functions include journal entry preparation and posting, reconciliation of assigned accounts, transactional work in assigned roles, and documentation of processes. Accounting Analysts are assigned roles which may include functions in capital, cash/bank transactions, patient system interface posting, cash management and treasury support, joint venture accounting among other tasks. An Accounting Analyst serves as a resource to others in CHI Health providing technical assistance and support to all elements of CHI Health in the implementation and execution for areas of responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare all journal entries necessary to maintain an effective general ledger and subsidiary systems.
2. Responsible for the ongoing, timely and accurate preparation of account reconciliations (i.e., this includes but is not limited to the daily/monthly patient accounts receivable, balance sheet, cash, etc.) utilizing Blackline.
3. Depending on assigned duties, employees role may include: (a) Process, track and monitor all capital projects and expenditures ensuring appropriate documents are submitted by operational staff at the facilities, entered into the Lawson system, and approved via our internal and National systems; (b) Responsible for daily bank reconciliations in coordination with the Revenue Cycle teams; (c) Monitor and support the daily interface from various patient accounting systems to the general ledger; (d) Cash management and treasury support locally and coordination with National departments; (e) Ensures proper restricted fund accounting, tracking and financial reporting of restricted funds in compliance with GAAP criteria for CHI Health foundations (until transition to National Foundation COE); (f) Joint venture accounting, both consolidated and unconsolidated; (g) Prepares federal, state and other regulatory reports, as needed.
4. Provides support and assistance to the analytical review and CHI national coordination efforts. Assists the Director and Supervisors in the preparation of financial statements for each identifiable level of reporting activity.
5. Provides technical assistance and support to operational and system leaders.
6. Assists the Director and Supervisors in the research, implementation and compliance monitoring of GAAP principles and CHI policies and procedures in the general ledger and throughout CHI Health.
7. Other dutes as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Preferred:
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred (an equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered). Candidates without a Bachelors Degree must possess 3-5 years of related experience to be considered. Experience with Lawson financial systems is beneficial
A compensation range of $43,000 - $58,000 is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
