Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
With minimal supervision, the Financial Analyst is responsible for compiling and preparing financial reports (monthly forecasts, quarterly reviews and ten-year plan). This position focuses on expense information and is expected to provide meaningful and concise variance analysis of actual performance compared to the plan, forecast and prior period actuals.
Typical Duties
Liaison with various levels of department and regional personnel as well as Finance and Accounting staff.
Compile and prepare financial reports including monthly forecasts, headcount reconciliation, quarterly analysis and develop a ten-year plan for the assigned groups.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
Two or more years' experience in financial accounting, financial planning, finance, public accounting, or other related experience.
Good understanding of accounting financial statements to facilitate modeling.
Excellent Excel skills needed for financial modeling.
Working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of software - Oracle, PowerPlan and Utilities International helpful.
Ability to complete multiple tasks within time constraints. Ability to ascertain how transactions affect all areas of financial statements.
Ability to function well under pressure. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) including the ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.
Periodic overtime will be required, especially during the preparation of the ten-year plan and the forecasting time frame.
Effective analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
