Form of work Position Summary: This role administers the expense system and all accounts payable functions. The Accounting Assistant works closely with the Controller to help evaluate and provide detailed reports of organizational expenses. This position also works closely with all department leaders to help manage spending and adherence to the travel spend policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for providing access and administration of financial system for budgets and invoices.
Processes all invoices and reconciles to vendor statements.
Processes all vendor payments.
Is responsible for managing and reviewing all expenses in the expense system and travel reports for accuracy and accordance with policy.
Other duties as requested.
Competencies
Work collaboratively with all employees across the organization
Prepare financial reports on a determined schedule
Analyze and discover issues within financial reports
Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities
Preferred education and experience
Critical math skills and a proven ability to perform difficult calculations
Strong critical thinking skills
Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
