Form of workThe Accountant assists in closing the company books each month, ensuring accurate monthly financial data. The position works to reconcile multiple sets of data, including general ledger accounts and intercompany transactions between related parties.A The Accountant prepares balance sheets and income statements and performs account analysis with the Accounting Manager to ensure all are accurate, complete, and presentable.AA The position may also prepare sales tax filings and assist the Controller with state and federal tax filings.
Location: Areas around Indianapolis, IN and Charlotte, NC are preferred; also other continental US locations. This role is eligible for primarily remote based work, in the continental United States with close proximity to a major airport. Candidates must have the ability to travel as necessary for business to conferences, seminars, meetings & trainings, etc., including to our Indianapolis, Indiana Central Office.

ResponsibilitiesA
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Prepare quarterly financial binder
- Reconcile various Abalance sheet accounts to ensure proper recording of assets and liabilities
- Prepare general ledger transfer entries and allocations
- Prepare various accruals for financial accuracy
- File monthly, quarterly, and annual sales tax filings
- Communicate with Site Managers and Directors regarding financial statements
- Communicate with related entities to ensure Intercompany transactions are recorded and eliminated properly
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- 1 year experience in the accounting field preferred
- Experience with month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing process preferred
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) required; knowledge of Workday (financial module), Great Plains, Microsoft Dynamics AX, Management Reporter or other Financial software applications preferred
- Ability to work effectively with other team members
- Analytical thinking skills to perform analysis and develop accurate conclusions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting Aor equivalent experience preferred
