Summary of duties and responsibilities:
Accounts Payable: Provide an accurate and consistent accounts payable process that ensures timely payment of invoices and healthy vendor relations. Specific tasks include:
- Review and post invoices accurately
- Prepare weekly check runs
- Manage and issue monthly rent payments
Month- and Year-End Close Process: Assist with the month- and year-end close procedures to ensure accurate booking of revenue and expense. These procedures may include:
- Manage cash and bank reconciliations
- Book and reconcile expense accruals
- Record inventory valuations and booking of Cost of Goods Sold
Financial Reporting: Using Quickbooks, Toast, and other operational systems and tools, the Accountant I will maintain key department spreadsheets and compile financial information on a case-by-case basis. This aspect of the position will also include regular financial reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. They will use the various systems and tools to help answer questions about cafe performance.
New Cafe Setup: Support Saxbys' ELP growth by coordinating with operations to optimize cash logistics for new cafes. At minimum, this involves selection of bank branches for cafe cash to be deposited into.
Audit Requests: Assist with requests from third-party auditors to ensure timely and accurate responses. Requests may include revenue selections, trial balance reviews, or similar tasks.
