Nature of Work
We are looking for an experienced professional who will partner with our Administration and Finance team, working to ensure the College's financial goals and commitments. We have a long and impressive track record at Peru State College and we succeed only when our students succeed!
The Accountant will perform a variety of duties in support of the Comptroller and Accounting department while applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in all aspects of the position. Duties will include but are not limited to preparing financial statements and reports, creating specialized accounting records and reports, assembling, and analyzing data and transactions, and assisting with the audit review process. Will monitor various aspects of accounting office and journal entries. Will work with accounts payable, reconciliations and oversee inventory and fixed assets. Will be the travel coordinator for the campus. This position is non-exempt with regard to FLSA overtime provisions. This position is covered by the NSCPA negotiated agreement.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting/related field; or an Associate's degree in accounting/related field plus three years of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
SAP or NIS experience desirable. Must demonstrate attention to detail, ability to be proactive, possess a questioning attitude, approach problems in a logical manner, and have good follow through. Must communicate well, including both verbally and in writing and be able to work effectively with various departments on campus as well as with outside constituencies.
