JOB COMPLEXITY:
- Analyzes data that requires thorough evaluation of numerous factors, including understanding what data is needed, understanding company strategy, and balancing long-term customer satisfaction.
- Requires the ability to communicate complex and difficult decisions effectively, ensure customer understanding, and escalate to the GSI Operations Director and GSI Operations and Underwriting Senior Director when appropriate.
- Demonstrates good judgment based on data and customer experience to identify groups for plan design increases.
- Builds and maintains stable working relationships externally with distribution partners and employer groups and internal cross functional teams.
- Possesses an understanding of how Account Management interacts successfully with all areas of GSI and must be able to influence through critical thinking and collaboration.
- Demonstrates ability to fully understand, articulate and provide data driven solutions for customer issues.
- In addition to using developed analytical skills for reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness, this role is responsible for coming up with new ways of visualizing data and developing new reports in support of business persistency and strategy.
- Uses professional concepts; applies company policies and procedures to understand and resolve customer issues. The role discerns the balance of customer needs and company strategic direction.
TASKS:
- Responsible for interacting with distribution partners including direct agency contacts to drive a professional business relationship.
- Ensure GSI inforce groups are actively managed including renewals and updates to plan design.
- Successfully administers all tasks on larger block of business.
- Communicate and complete all tasks timely, accurately and effectively.
- Lead team in strategic lean problem solving and is an agent for change and continuous improvement.
- Proactively identify and communicate growth opportunities and risks to leadership.
- Occasional travel and presentations for strategic distribution partners, leadership, and employer groups. Successfully administers all tasks on block of business.
SUPERVISION:
- Works with GSI Operations Director to execute on GSI strategies and acts independently as a SME to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments.
- Mentoring for less experienced team members. Provides mentor support and direction to Associate Account Managers.
EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance or related field with a minimum of 8 years related customer care experience -OR- the equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Advanced experience as an Account Manager within a regulated industry (insurance, banking, healthcare, government, etc.) is required.
- Advanced knowledge/experience with the following software: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Advanced experience of system and product knowledge in the areas of GSI Policy Features, Offer Letters, Policy Administration, Renewal Administration, Maturity and Billing processes, and Commissions is highly preferred, but not required.
- Intermediate knowledge/experience with Salesforce, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and serve as team lead in mentoring other Account Managers.
LICENSING REQUIREMENT:
- Life & Health Insurance license preferred.

Please note - the salary range for this role is listed below. In addition to salary, our package includes incentive plan participation and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits, as well as an initial PTO accrual of 164 hours per year. Employees also receive 11 paid holidays and 2 wellness days per year.
- Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
Salary Range:
$71,000.00 - $104,000.00
