Description:

Tulane Law School invites applications for a part-time or full time visiting Clinical Assistant Professor position during the 2024-2025 school year to directly represent survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and trafficking in post-conviction, clemency, and parole hearings; directly represent survivors wrongfully charged with crimes related to their abuse in trial and appellate courts; and supervise third-year student attorneys engaged in direct representation of these clients. Position may also include civil litigation on behalf of survivors, depending on applicant experience and expertise. The Visiting Professorship is hosted by/situated in the Domestic Violence Clinic/Women’s Prison Project.


Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, strong academic credentials, and at least three years of relevant law-related experience in criminal defense and/or gender-based violence; prior supervising attorney experience, especially in criminal defense, is preferred; strong preference for applicants currently admitted to practice in Louisiana. Applicants with experience representing survivors in civil proceedings are encouraged to apply.
