Job description

UsedCardboardBoxes & UCBZeroWaste (UCB) designs, implements and runs large-scale, fully zero waste programs by reducing waste (cost) and increasing recycling and reuse (revenue).

UsedCardboardBoxes was founded in 2006 and is the largest processor of USED gaylord totes, produce totes, resin/octo-bins and shipping boxes in North America. We can pay much more than recycling rates because we don’t recycle! We REUSE, RESELL and RETURN them, as is, right here in the US. USED totes are mainly sold to major retailers for reverse logistics, or to large scrap processors (metal, plastic, paper, etc.) to sort/transport commodities. USED shipping boxes are sold mainly to major retailers for distribution from DC to store and many are used to create UCB’s eco-friendly moving kits, sold online. As a closed-loop RETURN program, gaylord totes, resin bin and shipping boxes can be sorted, inspected, palletized, inventoried and RETURNED back to the original vendor, for reuse (at significant savings).

UCBZeroWaste is a world-class, fully managed waste reduction program. We partner with major food, beverage and CPG clients to implement our proven methodology to reduce waste by focusing on the origin of waste (inside the building) as well as the processing of waste (outside the building). Our comprehensive programs include waste reduction, recycling, reuse, resale as well as de-packaging, digesting, composting and/or waste-to-energy (WTE). We manage all commodities, all vendors, all logistics, all invoicing and all reporting. All programs are proactively managed, real-time using UCB’s proprietary software called WATER: W*aste Analytics & Tracking for Environmental R*eporting.

Summary

The National Account Manager (“NAM”) in B2B Sales for the B2B Division of UsedCardboardBoxes (“UCB”) is a position that centralizes on the sales of our available inventory, nationwide. It is the responsibility of this position to get all this available inventory moved profitably to customers, as well as to prospect potential customers and document their needs as to better direct our sourcing efforts. The goal is to identify and maintain relationships with companies that buy high volumes of the commodities that we either have access to now or can have access to later.

Responsibilities

  • Contact customers through outbound calls and emails to prospect and qualify leads (whether self-prospected, or existing in our database).
  • Identify prospective customers who buy full truckloads of boxes or other commodities we have access to using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance.
  • Understand the product in order to assist customers in selecting products based on their needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Keep track of orders to ensure smooth process and collaborate with other team members and departments when needed.
  • Meet and/or exceed quotas and other metrics that are set by the company.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Sales or Accounts Management
  • Proven track record of Sales achievements
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to thrive in a challenging job

  • Determination for job completion is a must
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Experience and Background in the following position:

  • Sales Manager
  • Account Manager
  • Sales Supervisor

Travel:

  • Intention is for this position to not travel. It is 100% inside sales behind a desk.
  • However, if there is value in traveling to close a specific deal, and the ROI is attractive and worth the risk of the travel costs, then these instances may be approved.

Compensation Estimation:

  • Base Salary: $40,000 - $60,000/yr (negotiable on experience)
  • Commissions/Bonuses/Incentives based on actual sales performance. First year estimate to be $10,000 or more (based on historical averages).
  • Historical averages and intention is to support a sales rep in making $100,000+ in overall compensation within about 3 years and driving a company-paid TESLA.
  • Highest performing sales reps expected to close $10 million in business, and can expect to make upwards of $200,000/yr.
  • During the screening process, we will provide you with the compensation plan which outlines how to make money.
