The Obsidian Solutions Group (OSG) is seeking an Account Executive to provide support in a strategic account management role that requires coordination, collaboration, and interaction across the Department of Defense (DoD). The successful candidate will have a well-rounded background in joint military operations and understand how the DoD supports the joint fight. Cross functional internal coordination and collaboration is also required within OSG to include the functional staff, Business Development, Operations and VP/Director level executives. This role works exclusively within the DoD ecosystem to build account strategies aligned with the DoD mission, to align the strategic plan with OSG’s Cornerstone Plan.
Specific Responsibilities
- Provide a thorough understanding of the process of training unit commanders and their staffs on the creation of orders products and their ability to command and control operations as a key account and drive strategic initiatives as OSG’s primary interface.
- Lead business development pursuits beginning with opportunity identification and through handoff to the Capture Management lead in the strategic capture phase.
- Create and lead a multifunctional team to shape and execute Task Orders emanating from DoD’s functional directorates and its entire ecosystem.
- Gain sound understanding of clients’ business challenges and goals by conducting effective client engagements.
- Build 12 to 18-month roadmap with an Account Plan, signed to develop a campaign for a go-to market approach, and to inform BD, Capture, and Proposal Operations to optimize OSG’s response to and DoD proposals/RFPs.
- Drive profitable growth in any related DoD account(s) through valuable customer engagements and contract expansion, through winning task orders that involve conducting assessments, exercises, modeling, and simulations.
- Proactively engage and align BD, Operations, and SME resources aligned to DoD initiatives.
- Bring Thought Leadership to the DoD engagement and use collaboration to build trust, confidence, and influence, to shape and drive Task Order captures.
- Master and maintain a vast knowledge base of DoD business intelligence, competition intelligence, and industry trends.
- Educate the DoD on OSG capabilities and service offerings.
- Support MARCOM strategy to brand OSG as a viable DoD partner and solution.
- Mid/Senior-Level – Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent w/ 15+ Years Direct Relevant Experience
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in the Department of Defense (DoD), joint, and multinational operations at the tactical and operational levels of war.
- Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Normal Office Environment with occasional work in a field environment for exercise support
- Ability to pass drug screening and Federal Government criminal background check with no felony records.
- Possess current, valid driver’s license (not under suspension or limitation).

- The candidate is expected to conduct multiple customer engagement visits to business development initiatives, selected foreign partners, to foster client engagement and develop “embedded” relationships.
