Responsibilities
Responsible for inputting and updating departmental course offerings through Student Central; Schedule of Classes and Course Catalog, as well as Ad Astra-Room Assignment. Responsible for processing drop/add and mandatory first day attendance course changes. This includes regular courses, DIS, special topics, etc. Works closely with Administrative Specialist to ensure that department and student needs are met. Handles sending and receiving items from FSU Surplus.
Assists the department by answering phones and assisting students and faculty with processes. Types routine correspondence, exams and memos. Responsible for ordering all general office supplies and materials for the department. Responsible for mail distribution. Responsible for accepting and logging packages upon arrival and timely notifying faculty of delivery. Maintains the copier in good working order and assists new students and faculty in setting up passwords and trains them on how to use this particular machine. Serves as back-up to Human Development and Family Science in registering students for classes and building classes.
Responsible for processing departmental travel. Serves as backup processor for purchasing.
Responsible for collecting, and posting faculty, adjuncts and TA's office hours and teaching schedules. Responsible for requesting, storing on server and retrieving all departmental course syllabi by semester. Ensures all textbooks are listed in the student central module.
Assists with writing and proofreading quarterly college publications as requested. Reports repairs to Facilities as needed. Responsible for annual department inventory. Assists Chair and other staff with day-to-day operations as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma/equivalency and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
- Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software.
