Scope of Role
The Academic Coach is responsible for providing direct supervision, providing academic and enrichment activities, and monitoring the progress of youth participating in an after-school education program.

• THIS POSITION IS GRANT FUNDED AND WILL END IN EARLY JUNE

Essential Duties

1. Provide direct supervision of the participants in the program.
   
2. Develop and support formal and informal academic activities.
   
3. Support accurate homework completion.
   
4. Facilitate behavior management skills.
   
5. Collaborate to develop and implement social emotional learning activities.
   
6. Engage with school personnel to monitor and support the academic performance of the participants.
   
7. Understand and follow the Program's processes and procedures.
   
8. Maintain documentation as required.
   
9. Engage in contact with families.
   
10. Engage with school personnel to monitor and support the academic performance of the participants.
    
11. Transport participants.
    
12. Provide academic instruction and tutoring.
    
13. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications
Required

• Associates degree in a human service-related field or a highschool diploma and at least one year of significant experience
• with the target population (young teens) or in a human services field.
• Possession of a current and valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• CPR/First Aid Certification within timeframe determined by supervisor.

Recommended

• Certified Parks and Recreational Professional.
• Certified teacher or bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience providing academic instruction.
