The School of Nursing at SIUE is accepting applications for a full-time Academic Advisor I or II vacancy. The SIUE School of Nursing (SON) students learn excellence in nursing leadership through innovative teaching; quality research; community service; and compassionate care in this diverse and complex world. The Academic Advisor for the School of Nursing (SON) is responsible for conscientious file management, academic advising, and registration of assigned nursing students and development of student program progression plans. The Advisor will provide accurate and current curricular information on undergraduate and graduate programs as well as aid with program changes (class drops/additions and major changes) and career plans.
This position will assist with recruitment of students and provides feedback in preparation of the annual recruitment plan for the School of Nursing, as well as participate in explore academic excellence annual events and other recruitment events as assigned. The selected candidate will meet with prospective students and families to provide them with School of Nursing information as well as maintain summary data on inquiries, prospective students, applicants, admitted students, enrolled students and inactive students for purposes of keeping the Assistant Deans fully informed of enrollment. The Advisor will also work closely with the Director of Student Services to ensure proper workflow is followed.
Additionally, the Academic Advisor will assist and participate in SON commencement activities every fall and spring semester. The professional responsibilities of this position may necessitate evening hours and occasional weekend hours. The Academic Advisor may be assigned additional duties that support the department's mission and goals.
This is an Academic Advisor I posting, but candidates may be considered at the Academic Advisor II level based on qualifications and experience. Salary will increase based on level and qualifications.
