GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
A successful candidate will grow AAO’s presence in the energy sector. This person will have extensive and established connections within major and independent oil and gas operators both in Kenai and North Slope oil and gas fields. This person will should have a reputation that matches AAO’s values including quality, fairness, transparency, and a creative “we can solve it” customer service approach.
The Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring, assessing, and communicating the daily operations to the General Manager. This position travels to multiple job sites to communicate with rig crews and customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & JOB FUNCTIONS / ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
- Reports day-to-day operations to General Manager of the company.
- High initiative, with ability to work independently.
- Coordinate crew scheduling with employees and customers.
- Responsible for recruiting and hiring employees who are competent and able to fill positions.
- Coordinate with vendors for the purchase of parts and equipment for various projects.
- Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Work with customers to meet their needs on specific assignments or jobs.
- Travel to work locations as needed.
- Be responsible for all ongoing operational activity with focus on safety and wellbeing of on and offshore staff.
- Provides support and coordination to operators.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
- At least five (15) years’ of progressively responsible experience within the oil & energy services sector, including a demonstrated track record building and growing a business with solid profits and revenue contributions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Occasional travel with extended work hours as needed.
Knowledge Of: Current Alaska oil & energy market, cost model analysis and proposal development, including budget forecasting.
Ability To: Maintain strict confidence, communicate effectively orally and in writing; prioritize projects and complete in accordance with established deadlines, exercise independent judgment, research issues and draw conclusions based on data gathered, provide appropriate follow up, establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and vendors; develop new business opportunities and establish pipelines, represent AAO at trade shows, exhibitions, and other industry networking opportunities.
PREFERRED:
- Experience working in Alaska with both major and independent operators.
