911 Dispatcher

Clark County (Indiana) is seeking applications for a 911 Dispatcher position. The successful applicant will serve as Dispatcher for the Clark County 911 Center, located in Sellersburg, and will be responsible for receiving incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching information to appropriate response units, and maintaining various computer records. This full time position, is currently scheduled to work 12-hour shifts, which could include holidays and working with short notice. The starting pay is $42,000.

The position of dispatcher requires mental concentration, intense at times, performed in a sometimes high stress level environment. Technical knowledge, manual dexterity and well-developed oral communication skills are necessary to be successful in this position.
