Position:         Systems Administrator

 Department:    Information Technology

 Reports To:    Systems Administrator Team Lead

 FLSA:            Non-Exempt                                                                                               

SUMMARY

Provides administration, maintenance, monitoring, hardening, support, and technical documentation of all enterprise infrastructure systems with limited supervision. Performs research and troubleshooting to provide resolution for complex technical issues related to the server infrastructure, enterprise applications, and network services. Responsible for administering operational workflows, processes, and IT functions that impact multiple business units and branches of the organization and the availability of mission-critical IT services. Contributes to and executes procedures that ensure systems support the organization's business requirements; meet compliance/security requirements; and meet the needs of end users. Performs a variety of other systems administration tasks to ensure high availability of enterprise services and meet the technology needs of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administration, monitoring, and support of the Symitar financial system.
  • Administration, monitoring, and support of Windows, AIX, and Linux operating systems.
  • Administration, monitoring, and support of SAN (Storage Area Network) systems.
  • Administration, monitoring, and support of various enterprise technologies including but not limited to Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, Lync, SharePoint, SCCM, VMware, and Citrix.
  • Administration, monitoring, and support of data replication technologies, system backups, recovery testing.
  • Administration, evaluation, and execution of disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance tests for the server infrastructure to ensure business continuity.
  • Administration, monitoring and support of ACL’s, anti-virus, anti-spam, host-based firewalls, internet content filtering, data loss prevention, patch management and various other security elements.
  • Executes strategies for monitoring systems and ensuring all enterprise systems are within vendor defined licensing compliance parameters.
  • Monitoring system requirements and maintaining defined system technical baselines.
  • Actively maintains service requests and provides thorough documentation for problem resolution of tickets.
  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists in training new personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Education:

Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).

Experience and Other Requirements:

  • One to three of similar or related experience.
  • MCSA certification or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience required.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Must be capable of working well with others and independently.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions with minimal supervision in a timely fashion.
  • Must be able to evaluate service requests and projects and prioritize as necessary.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality required.
  • Requires after-hours, weekends and on-call work as needed.
  • Some travel is required.

 Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

MCSA or equivalent certification or must be willing to obtain certification within 12 months.

Extensive use of desktop computer is required.  The noise level is that of a normal office environment.  When working in designated secured areas, elevated noise level may be present.
