Summary
This position of Chief, Healthcare Services is a senior-level management position located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Gulfport, MS (AFRH-G). The incumbent is responsible for the following operations: administrative support for the Healthcare Services area, Assisted Living; Long Term Care, Memory Support, and healthcare admission screening functions for potential Residents of AFRH-G.

Duties
As a Health System Administrator, you will:
  • Serve as the budget program manager with responsibility for planning, programming, estimating, and budgeting for healthcare service functions that support the AFRH-G mission.
  • Oversee the management of general Healthcare Service administration functions, supplies and equipment, patient administration and records.
  • Oversee a facility nurse staffing plan and participate in the formulation and management of an information plan that meets the minimum CARF/CCAC standards for staff qualification, education and management of information, and report to leadership on the status of the staffing plans.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14: You must have one year specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
-
Medical experience overseeing functions of a healthcare facility including compliance with accrediting and regulatory standards, supervision of healthcare staff; AND
-
Healthcare budgeting
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
Education
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As an AFRH employee, you will also be subject to the AFRH Supplemental Ethics Regulations which restrict the extent to which a AFRH employee can engage in certain activities and hold certain investments. Depending on your position, you may also be required to file a public or confidential financial disclosure report which must be filed within 30 days of your appointment as an employee of AFRH. Upon your new appointment, you will receive guidance regarding your ethics obligations. You will also be required to attend a mandatory ethics training within 3 months of your appointment.
