What you’ll do:
- Adherence to Atkore Safety / Life Saving Rules is paramount
- Knowledge of 5S, lean sustainment and problem solving
- QC record-keeping
- Obtaining quality products
- Provide and document first piece inspection
- Customer packaging requirements
- All duties as instructed by supervision
What You’ll bring:
- High school diploma required. College degree or technical degree preferred
- 3 – 5 years’ work-related experience in quality and print reading required
- Working knowledge of AS400, and/or JD Edwards a plus
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Quality experience with instrument knowledge
- Ability to read customer prints and distinguish various customer flaws
- Ability to operate and read various measuring devices
- Tape measure
- Calipers
- Micrometer
- Digital protractor
- Strong math skills, convert decimals to fractions and vice versa, convert metric to standard, understand basic geometry and algebra for product design.
- Safety action-orientated
- Must possess an outgoing positive attitude, be a team player and have a strong work ethic
Within 3 months, You’ll
- Obtain quality product
- Complete required training and build standard work
- Successfully perform QA PPAP qualification
- Developed good communication skills to apply strong manufacturing guidelines with a strategic planning focus
- Be well-versed in Atkore’s Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
- Please list experience, qualification; or prior success in any position at Allied Tube or Atkore on your resume
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Gain an understanding of the current procedures your team owns
- Partner with Quality Manager to identify short- and long-term process improvement ideas
- Identify ways to strengthen the team’s commitment to Atkore’s core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence
Within 12 months, you’ll:
- Create, update, and share inspection documentation
- Have meaningful conversations with Operations team concerning quality issues in real time
- Lead Lean initiatives to drive process improvements
