This position is on 3rd Shift
Process Technician The Process Technician is responsible for ensuring the plastic injection molding machines are operating effectively and efficiently. They are required to set up and maintain the machines, troubleshoot any issues that arise, and make necessary adjustments to ensure the products meet the required specifications. Additionally, Process Technicians are required to document the manufacturing process and maintain records of any maintenance or repair work performed on the equipment. They will need to be able to communicate effectively with other technicians, supervisors, and managers to ensure the smooth operation of the production process. Overall, the Process Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the plastic injection molding process.
Cycle in and troubleshoot processes, when warranted, to meet quality standards.
Monitor process parameters, paying close attention to detail, and document information onto process monitoring log.
Using E-Dart, Insight, E.O.A.T.S., etc, at set up and during production runs. Set up K-cuts and adjust.
Assist die setter with mold changes, when needed.
Communicate mold, equipment or product concerns and/or special instructions to supervisor, quality assurance, and/or other appropriate personnel as needed.
Transport molds to and from tool room.
Assist in maintaining a clean, safe working environment.
Assist supervisor as needed to meet production schedule through machine utilization, efficiency, and part quality.
Previous working experience as a manager in plastic injection molding, light assembly. Automotive supplier experience preferred.
Strong verbal, writing, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with immediate team and peers.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well in collaborative group environments
Strong attention to detail and organization.
Intermediate knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
High school diploma or equivalent (some employers may require an associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plastic injection molding process setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Knowledge of plastic injection molding machine operation and maintenance
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Knowledge of plastic materials and their characteristics
Familiarity with quality control procedures and techniques
Experience with equipment maintenance and repair
Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with molds, machinery, and equipment
Excellent problem-solving skills
Good communication skills to interact with other technicians, supervisors, and managers.
Prolonged periods of standing, walking during an 8 hour shift.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
