Job Description
Machine shop utilizing CNC controlled lasers as cutting tools is looking for a Machine Operator for Midnight shift (3rd Shift) hours - Midnight to 8:30 AM, five days a week, must be committed to working 3rd Shift. Your regular work week will start at 12:01AM Tuesday morning and end 8:30AM Saturday morning.
Prompt regular Attendance required
Good production is required from all 3 shifts to meet customer requirements. Training will be on 3rd Shift, all tools will be supplied by company.
Note - Parts produced are small, fragile, electronics components.
All training will be on 3rd Shift (Midnight to 8:30 AM) .
This is NOT a warehouse job. No forklifts involved. No heavy lifting. No cutting fluids. No welding.
If previous CNC experience - Must Be Able to Transfer skills from metal working CNC Milling Machines (HAAS Fadal Mitsubishi, etc) to our 2 axis Laser machining centers
Key Skills:
1) Excellent manual dexterity required as well as an eye for visual quality and small features
2) Advanced Windows PC or Linux skills a plus
3) Program edit experience desirable (all workstations are 2 axis)
4) Knowledge and use of precision measuring instruments - calipers, microscopes
5) Knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with a good understanding of shop math
6) Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
7) Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job
Responsibilities for Operator:
1. Under the direction of a supervisor and/or experienced machinist, responsible for quality parts produced on Laser CNC machines
2. Responsible for loading parts, operating controls, setting offsets, simple edits, deburring and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements
3. Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or Job Travelers to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements
4. Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine, within capabilities, controls or control media as required to insure quality of production. Report all machine malfunctions to immediate supervisor
5. Communicate with supervisor, engineers, production control, quality and other personnel for assignments and to resolve machining or quality issues
6. Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly
7. May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
8. Full time - 40 hours, 5 days per week - May rarely include one or two weekend days per month as extra hours depending on workload
