Description
Scope/Purpose of the Position
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper functioning of the equipment by following the implemented preventive maintenance master plan, assuring accurate troubleshooting by trained maintenance technicians, and continuously improving all equipment in the production, packaging, and warehousing areas while maintaining the highest safety, quality, cost, and GMP standards in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Major Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Propose and monitor all necessary machinery and equipment adjustments and performs all tasks and duties necessary for efficient start-ups, daily operations, change-over and shut-downs.
- Participate and assist in the installation and training of new machinery.
- Identify, implement, and document maintenance and reliability best practices.
- Provide training and continuous development for all maintenance personnel.
- Distributes work orders and tasks daily to maintenance technicians and ensure technicians have enough workload for their shift.
- Monitor progress on technician's workload by doing rounds and following up on technicians periodically throughout the shift making sure job duties are performed.
- Update Preventive Maintenance plans based on data analysis of failures.
- Work directly with machine operators and production supervisors to resolve mechanical issues that arise during shifts/production.
- Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other equipment at facility as required.
- Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment.
- Maintain industrial control systems.
- Enforces department rules and procedures.
- Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs timely and safely.
- Work with other departments on root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to help drive efficiency and yield.
- Understand and follow plant safety rules including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation. Personal Protective Equipment is to be used where required.
- Develop and maintain quality and safety standards.
- Report to your manager daily, help facilitate meetings and manage dept KPI's working with Maintenance Coordinator.
- Instruct and support Maintenance Techs in every aspect of Maintenance duties.
- Adhere to Bakerly's safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to Bakerly's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Job Requirements
- Certification in Electrical and Mechanical technology or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- 2- 3 years' experience with industrial electricity, automation control and mechanical repairs required in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years in a management/Supervisory position in a manufacturing environment, leading a team of direct reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point) to look up part location/availability on computer using maintenance software.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with other managers and be able to explain electrical/mechanical processes and theory.
- Good problem-solving abilities and result-oriented
- Ability to lead by example at all times (no safety violation and use proper PPE)
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures, and around machinery and chemicals.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
