Job description

21st CCLC Program Director - This is a full-time twelve-month Position at Berrien County Central Office. Applicants preferred to have a Bachelor's degree or previous experience working in this position. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to multi-task, and have very good computer skills. Experience/knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher is preferred. This position oversees the implementation of several Federal Grants; supervises the general operation of afterschool campus sites; works to sustain local initiatives related to the Grant's activities and to work to support efficient and effective partnerships; work to insure that all aspects of the programs are consistent with the Grant's objectives, policies, and procedures; assist in the preparation of project reports; supervises local evaluation activities; working closely with program evaluator; serve as liaison with fiscal agent, and assist in financial management of the Grants. Job also includes grant writing to sustain feasibility of programs. Candidate also implements professional learning, initial training, and orientation of staff. This position does qualify for TRS pension plan and benefits. Salary Range is $30,000-35,000 based on experience and on Grant specifications and regulations. Position to start Sept 13, 2022 or ASAP.

21st CCLC Program Director Responsibilities (pertains to each individual grant):
  1. Articulate the 21st CCLC federal grant program's mission and goals to program staff, families, and students.
  2. Duties include but are not limited to helping site coordinators organize and document their work, recruit high performing staff, observe and evaluate instructional staff, aid in developing activities for academic support, academic enrichment, and family events.
  3. Survey staff for professional learning subjects and ensure meaningful professional learning is scheduled and proper documentation is recorded. Redeliver any information gained at trainings to appropriate staff such as Brown Bags, etc.
  4. Collaborate with all community stakeholders.
  5. Effectively meet all required program guidelines, submission deadlines, and develop and implement effective procedures.
  6. Deliver expectations of student behavior, school attendance, and attitudes toward work and learning.
  7. Review and analyze spending of federal funds. Insure federal program budget regulations are followed, submit purchase orders to vendors, document materials have been received, insure materials are delivered to proper sites, review billing invoices before submitting to accounts payable, and complete submission of budget reimbursement request.
  8. Manage staff timecards, submission of time to payroll clerk, and insure assigned hours are followed and documented properly.
  9. Manage database for Second Harvest's Kids Café.
  10. Supervise data specialist, review and analyze data pertaining to students on a monthly basis.
  11. Collaborate with school transportation director ensuring bus drivers and bus routes are in order and maintained throughout after school and summer program.
