The Associate SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Fellow will support business process automation through technology solutions. The purpose of the role is to assist in development of business software solutions for complex and large-scale projects through object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance and implementation support. The Associate SRE Fellow participates in application standards development and serves as an evangelist for best practices in software development. We strive to provide our Fellows with a meaningful experience and consider CDW for a full-time career post-graduation.
What you’ll do:
- Create dashboards in tools like Datadog, Dynatrace/Splunk
- Understand Application Architecture to troubleshoot production incidents
- Work with senior leaders during production triaging
- Document application troubleshooting steps.
- Apply academic knowledge and learn new skills by contributing to various projects
- Attend training and development presentations to enhance professional competencies
The 2024 CDW Legacy Excellence Summer Program will begin Tuesday, May 28th and end Saturday, August 3rd.
Participation in the Legacy Excellence Program requires residing in Chicago for the summer and attendance at one of the following HBCUs:
- Alabama A&M University
- Florida A&M University
- North Carolina A&T State University
- Southern University and A&M College
Requirements (Preferred)
- Working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, management information system or a related field
- Basic understanding of Linux & Windows OS
- Ability to document processes and procedures in enough detail to enhance knowledge sharing
- Understanding of software development life cycles
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Basic knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment concepts
- Basic Scripting experience (JavaScript, YML, Python)
What we’re looking for:
- Currently enrolled undergraduate students with a graduation date of May 2025 with ability to begin full-time employment in 2025 (if offered employment post-internship)
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
- Self-motivated and results-driven individual who will make an impact while utilizing strong written and verbal skills to communicate effectively
- Team oriented and able to develop positive relationships with coworkers and other partners involved
- Strong presentation skills, including ability to develop and deliver presentations
- Microsoft Office skills including, but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, and Word
- Availability to work a 40-hour week within standard business hours throughout the summer
- Authorization to work in the US; without sponsorship as a full-time coworker
