Senior Site Reliability Engineer

SciPlay is a leading developer and publisher of digital games on mobile and web platforms, providing highly entertaining free-to-play games that millions of people play every day for their authenticity, engagement and fun.

SciPlay currently offers seven core games, including social casino games Jackpot Party Casino, Gold Fish Casino, Hot Shot Casino and Quick Hit Slots, and casual games MONOPOLY Slots, Bingo Showdown and 88 Fortunes Slots with offices all over the world!

Key Responsibilities:

About the Role - this role will located onsite in Austin, TX

Essential Job Functions:

• Collaborate with software development teams to design systems that are reliable, scalable and easy to maintain.
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis, identifying and addressing the underlying cause of incidents and preventing their recurrence
• Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues and potential performance bottleknecks, setup / configure alerting systems to notify the team of anomalies and incidents
• Build out and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Participate in new initiatives such as building out cloud services, new client technologies, etc.
• Champion automation to reduce toil and increase development velocity
• Help define and instrument Service-Level Objectives that lead to a quality player experience
• Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation for configurations, processes and best practices

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineer Role or similar
• Extensive experience with Linux/Unix Systems
• Strong experience working in a Live Services environment
• Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, such as Python, Go or Ruby
• Experience with using Service-Level Objectives to achieve technical success
• Knowledge of common observability tools (APM, Error tracking tools, Logs) and how these are implemented and used (preferably Grafana)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Experience:

• AWS technologies (ECS, Serverless Lambda, etc.)
• Agile Methodologies such as Extreme Programming and/or SCRUM
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
• Experience with IaC (e.g, Terraform, Ansible)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proven ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
• Proven ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
