2024 Capital Solutions & Advisory Summer Intern

BMS Re has an exciting opportunity to welcome 2 interns to our New York Capital Advisory team!

Our Capital Advisory intern role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities across our global practice, including providing analytical support on mergers and acquisitions, legacy solutions, insurance-linked security (ILS) offerings, Insurtech advisory services and private capital raising. 

Interns will work directly with the Capital Advisory team to provide exceptional service to our clients, offering a hands-on experience in insurance investment banking and gaining the necessary tools to handle increased responsibilities. In the New York office, you will be working with a team of insurance sector experts who will support you in cultivating a deep knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industry.

You will: 

• Participate in all stages of M&A, equity, debt and ILS transaction executions, from the pitch phase through closing
• Build detailed financial models to evaluate performance under various operating scenarios to analyze the impacts of different capital structures and potential M&A transactions
• Assist in the preparation of company marketing documents and client presentations
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information to support the execution of financings and M&A transactions
• Perform research and various analyses in support of new business generation

Throughout the 10-week internship, you will participate in formal training, a weekly lunch and learn series and social events and be exposed to senior leaders within the organization.  You will be required to work in the NYC office 5 days a week. 

We are looking for candidates: 

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent; all majors are welcome to apply; minimum 3.4 GPA or above
• Candidates who are entering their Junior or Senior year and have previous finance internship experience are preferred
• Highly motivated, collaborative personalities with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to grasp intellectually challenging, stimulating concepts quickly
• Demonstrates professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to understand broader deal process dynamics while maintaining excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage time, prioritize and work to deadlines, adept at multi-tasking with strong organizational skills.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

The hourly rate provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
