Under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor/Lead Person, the sampling associate is responsible for the sampling of all incoming ingredients/bulks into the warehouse. Also responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of products sampled.
Responsibilities:
- Perform major clean on room and equipment
- Takes samples from raw materials and bulks received following SOP’s and GMP practices.
- Maintain the sampling room in clean working condition to maintain product integrity.
- Gather samples based on the established sampling method.
- Prepares samples for submission to the laboratory
- Keep sampling records
- Reseals opened ingredients/bulks to keep material integrity
- Organizes and maintains materials and other components that are needed for sampling in staging area
- Ability to document and maintain accurate records in logbooks
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team
- Personal responsibilities for following safety rules, SOPs, and cGMPs
- Other duties as assigned
- Must comply with GMP requirements; specific functions and documents will be discussed in GMP and on the job training
- Ability to read and write simple correspondence in English
- Basic math skills required
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- Attention to details and a good sense of organization.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Work environment may be exposed to powders, chemicals, and allergens (peanuts, tree nuts, milk, dairy, eggs, wheat, gluten, soy, fish, and shellfish)..
- Ability to work in a physically challenging environment, including bending, twisting, and standing for up to 8 hours.
