- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), plus six months' investigation experience, one year supervisory experience, one year retail or private security experience; or combination of relevant experience and education
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass drug test
- Ability to pass a typing and writing test
- Ability to work weekends on a regular basis and overtime on a frequent basis
- Ability to work any shift
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Accuracy/attention to detail
- Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and site specific computer programs
- Ability to travel independently
- Valid driver's license
- Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Certification (Oregon only)
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure
- Experience driving a patrol cart
- Experience with Closed Circuit TV/radio monitoring systems, multi-line telephone systems and personal computers
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Experience directing and participating on project teams
- Ability to continue education
- Deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
- Verify all policies and procedures are followed in accordance with the Kroger Logistics Loss Prevention Manual and site specific procedure manual
- Assist Distribution Center Loss Prevention Manager in developing and implementing operational procedures
- Conduct training of new associates in gate operations and procedures
- Report and document policy/safety violations
- Provide detailed reports and investigative information to Distribution Center Loss Prevention Manager
- Assist in coordinating security requirements for Distribution Center activities
- Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic
- Inspect alarm systems to maintain functional operation
- Respond to emergencies on complex
- Monitor Closed Circuit TV
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
