Job Summary:
Processing Technicians demonstrate proficiency, organization, awareness, and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Resourceful and able to work both independently and with a team while prioritizing quality standards. Processing Technicians are primarily responsible for the efficiency and quality of the processing of the products derived from the marijuana plant in preparation for sale. Processing of products includes, but are not limited to, flower, concentrates and extracts, pre-rolls, edibles, and topicals and should always be processed according to compliance standards established by appropriate state regulated entities.
Duties:
- Detail oriented.
- Able to adapt to new technology and procedural changes.
- Responsible for processing various product(s) derived from the marijuana plant, including but not limited to flower, concentrates and extracts, pre-rolls, edibles, and topicals.
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
- Ability to identify specific parts of plant in relation to processing task at hand.
- Breakdown flowers off stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from useable product.
- Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch.
- After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems, and sugar leaves from the flower.
- Employee must account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves to “waste” for proper tracking.
- Employee must exhibit competency in basic organizational, tracking, and communication skills.
- Ability to use scale to weigh product(s).
- Employee must be able to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Employee must be able to adapt to various strains, styles, and types of marijuana they are processing, adjusting technique to maintain a steady pace of production and quality.
- Time management; employee must manage their time during work efficiently to meet goals while consistently producing quality product.
- Employee must be able to follow basic instructions as well as be able to take constructive criticism from superiors in order to maintain the highest quality standards and production goals.
- Employee must show up on time for work every day, ready to work.
- Employee must exhibit personal hygiene and follow health guidelines
- Trim staff is responsible for clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every day
Skills/qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Ability to follow instruction and meet company quality standards.
- Ability to bend, stand, and sit for long periods of time, up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25-50 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and procedural changes.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and/or as part of a team is required.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and pro-active skills and behavior.
- Success in this position will require positive behavior, a cooperative nature, and self-motivation.
- Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of facility (light housekeeping work).
- Accountability and proactive behavior.
- High integrity and honesty.
Other Job Requirements:
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be a Michigan resident.
- Minimum 21-years of age.
- Pass extensive criminal and background check.
- Moral character requirements as specified by Company and in accordance with the Michigan Medical Marijuana Licensing Act, section 405.
- Cannot be a caregiver.
