Program Operation Specialist
The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between the government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The Bureau of Equitable Health Systems (BEHS) is a bureau in the Division for Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). Our division is devoted to strengthening the Department's ability to partner with the NYC health care system strategically. The bureau will engage primary care providers and other healthcare organizations to implement evidence-based strategies, leverage information to support planning and technical assistance for providers and payers, advance policy to close the racial equity gap for priority health outcomes, and surface opportunities where healthcare can influence and connect consumers to social support and address the whole person, beyond physical ailments.
POSITION OVERVIEW
BEHS is seeking a Program Operations Specialist to support program staff and partners in implementing best practices to assist quality improvement initiatives that maximize prevention opportunities in primary care.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate program efforts in the development and implementation of quality improvement.
- Complete project management activities
- Form and maintain supportive, collegial relationships with primary care practices.
- Conduct off/on-site practice visits and training.
- Assess and document program activities and practice progression.
- Provide administrative support; schedule and develop meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and material preparation.
- Develop presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Pilot Quality Improvement interventions in the small practice setting to advance the agency's vision of health equity.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and external organizations.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills required.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, remote communication, and group facilitation skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Knowledge about chronic disease prevention/ management is a plus.
- Must be willing to travel within the 4 targeted communities in Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens at least three days per week.
SALARY
- Salary range is $66,933 to $71,933.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT
You must live in New York City Tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) in order to be considered for a position at FPHNYC.
