10 Month Secretary / Child Study Secretary / High School Technology Support Clerk

Qualifications:  
  1. High school graduate.
  2. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with public, staff and students.
  3. Ability to manage/prioritize/complete work assignments from multiple sources in a timely fashion.
  4. Strong oral communication skills, including the ability to deal with confidential material.
  5. Excellent phone communication skills.
  6. Creative problem-solver
  7. Team oriented.
  8. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel & Campus preferred.
  9. Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
 
 10 Month Secretary Responsibilities:  
  1. Responsible for answering telephones and parent/student contact.
  2. Responsible for processing student attendance and census information.
  3. General secretarial duties as needed.
  4. Other duties as assigned.
Child Study Responsibilities 
  1. Follow defined District 196 Child Study procedures according to policy, regulation, law and good practice.
  2. Coordinate Child Study schedules for in-house and staffing meetings.
  3. Issue timely Child Study announcements of signatures and due dates.
  4. Prepare necessary Child Study correspondence for mailing.
  5. Maintain Child Study follow-up log.
  6. Maintain systematic file of Child Study records on individual students.
  7. Classify, sort and file Child Study data.
  8. Maintain Child Study log of access according to Regulation 505.1R.
  9. Maintain log of students going through Child Study.
  10. Inform Child Study coordinator of caseload changes through the use of form DB-1
  11. Coordinate Child Study statistics.
  12. Maintain an updated Child Study handbook.
  13. Sort and distribute Child Study mail.
  14. Operate computer, copy machine and other hardware and software as directed.
  15. Answer telephones for special education staff.
  16. Perform other Child Study related duties as assigned by department chair and/or principal.

High School Technology Sypport Clerk Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to students in the Media Center, including individual students, study groups and large group activities.
  • Offer iPad, computer and media support in the Media Center.
  • Triage and assist with iPad issues, especially ones related to Schoology, Google Drive, Notability, eBooks, and other educational apps.
  • Triage and resolve computer operating issues including, but not limited to: printing, accessing documents, email access, laptop projection and use of common software/programs (i.e. Schoology, Infinite Campus, GoogleDocs, Microsoft products, etc.).
  • Support inventory, repairs, and check-out of equipment.
  • Support the operation of software/apps including Schoology, Destiny, and other student/teacher resources.
  • Monitor iPad inventory related to new, withdrawn, temporarily withdrawn students and device recovery, etc. Facilitate communication between students/families regarding recovery and collection.
  • Assist with operation and implementation of Information Literacy and Digital Citizenship program. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
