SUMMARY
Responsible for the analysis, development, modification, installation, testing and maintenance of system automation on IBM z/OS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops, modifies, installs and prepares automation routines for z/OS Systems
- Leads NetView customization and usage
- Works with GDPS customization and operation
- Customizes and utilizes IBM SA for z/OS
- Codes NetView PIPEs
- Diagnoses, isolates and de-bugs software problems and performs problem resolution
- Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures, and provides Tier 2 technical support
- Performs other duties as required
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience
- Requires 8 years of experience in systems administration and programming
- Experience with IBM z/OS
- Experience with IBM System Automation (IBM SA / Netview)
- Skill in REXX
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Netview customization (advanced skills with MATs)
- Skill in JCL
- Experience working as a technical team lead
- Willingness to actively participate as needed in the evolution from legacy tools to open system tools (e.g. z/OSMF)
- Experience with GDPS customization and operation
- Experience utilizing USS
- Understanding of the z/OS startup process including IEASYMxx and LOADxx members
- Experience coding NetView PIPEs
- Ability to think outside the box and find the solution that best addresses big picture
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment with focus on timeliness, documentation, and communications with peers and business users alike
- Experience with project management
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels
- Results oriented, business focused, and successful at interfacing across multiple organizational units
