Job Title:Cash Operations Manager
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 annually
Type: Exempt, Salaried
Location: Denver, CO (50% in Office & 50% in Field; Office Address: 865 N Albion Street, Denver, CO 80220)
Position Objective
Own sales and cash reconciliation process. Ensure proper cash reconciliation processes across network. Training and support for field teams. Minimize cash loss. Enhance operational efficiency.
Major Functions
- Operational Excellence: Lead and optimize the operational functions of cash reconciliation across the network, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and adherence to company standards.
- Develop SOPs and lead training related to all operational cash procedures.
- Perform vault audits.
- Own reconciliation process.
- Investigate variances.
- Customer Experience: Collaborate with sales and service teams to enhance the overall customer experience at the point of sale. Ensure that operational processes contribute to a positive and memorable customer journey.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all retail operations comply with Schwazze’s cash handling and loss prevention policies, procedures, and industry regulations. Uphold high standards for auditing, cash reconciliation, safety, and customer engagement in retail spaces.
- Conduct fraud and cash variance investigations.
- Analyze financial transactions and data to identify and investigate potentially fraudulent activity.
- Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies and procedures to minimize fraudulent activity.
- Pursue legal action against individuals or organizations responsible for fraudulent activity.
- Communicate effectively with team members, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders to report findings and work towards solutions.
- Process Improvement and Cost-Outs: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements. Implement best practices to streamline operational workflows and improve overall effectiveness.
- Establish and own tip process across all retail locations.
- Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring the delivery of quality services. Liaison between field and cash/payments vendors.
- Cash Courier
- Own relationship with cash couriers across network.
- Identify cash associated with Wholesale DSD orders and reconcile against cash associated with retail sales.
- Liaison between operations, finance, and cash couriers.
- ATMs
- Own ATM vendor relationship, cash reporting related to ATM cash across network.
- Liaison between finance, ops, and ATM vendors.
- Payment Solutions Providers
- Serve as field team liaison for payment providers.
- Own payment system reconciliation process.
- Interface with payroll and finance to resolve all payment system issues.
- Cash Courier
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales and cash reconciliation. Use data insights to drive informed decision-making and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive operations and/or fraud examiner experience required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active MED badge in the state of Colorado.
- Financial acumen and cash-handling experience required.
- Previous experience developing standard operating procedures and training employees required.
- Excel and reporting experience highly desirable. Excel proficiency required.
- Hands-on experience with cash management processes.
- Display good interviewing skills along with the capability of drafting reports.
- Honest and ethical with high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
A Plus, but Not Required
- Team leadership experience.
- Wicklander or Reid School interviewing.
- CFE, CFCI, or CAMS certification.
- Familiarity with the following software:
- Point-of-Sale Systems
- Quickbooks
- Camera systems
- ERP systems
Working Conditions
- 50% field work – some travel between Colorado & NM required.
- Schedule will vary depending on the needs of the business (Nights, Weekends, Holidays included).
