JOB TITLE: Youth Worker (Part-time) DEPARTMENT: Youth DevelopmentCLASSIFICATION: Non-ExemptDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with planning and implementation of activities; Instruct, lead, engage, and observe youth activities participants ages 6-13 through hands on activities, presentations, games; and field trips; Ensure that all activities participants are supervised and maintain a safe and enjoyable activities environment at all times; Maintain and track activities supplies for program activities and let Program coordinator know when supplies are needed; Perform head-counts, fill out paperwork, and maintain daily logs of participants throughout the day; Ensure Youth Employees and Youth participants are following safety protocols; Support youth participants with emotional and social development by encouraging understating and positive concepts; Identify Participants emotional issues and bring to Activities Counselor & Parents attention; Assigned and perform daily set-up and cleanup of all activities areas; Assigned bus monitor duties for activities transportation schedule as needed; Assigned and perform daily snack duties for activities program; Participate in youth program staff meetings and trainings; Promote problem solving and creative approaches to activities program challenges; Maintain and Work collaboratively with parents, community members, and program partners; Maintain confidentiality; Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, college credits preferred; Good Moral character and patience required; Must be able to exercise mature judgement; Must possess public speaking abilities, organization, teamwork, and the ability to multitask; Ability to work in a variety of outside and indoor conditions i.e., sun, wind, and rain; Ability to lift, carry, push, pull heavy objects, or support the weight of children; Ability to walk long distances, run, swim, climb, twist, bend, stoop, crouch, and/or stretch for extended periods of time; Must be available for various hours and perform flexible scheduling; Must obtain and maintain current adult and child CPR/AED certifications (provided during training); Must complete Mandatory Reporter Training; Must complete paid onboarding and training to be determined; Must pass a background check; Must pass pre-employment drug screening Indian Preference shall be applied to qualified Indian Candidates in accordance with the Sac and Fox Tribal Code Section 9-124.SUPERVISION: Activities Program Coordinator, MYDP Director and/or any MYDP fulltime staffSALARY: Annual Salary Range: $33,280 - $49,046
