This position will be held at our new second location in Fishers, IN called the “Fishers Art Center”.

Job Summary:
The Indianapolis Art Center promotes life-long learning through hands-on art classes and activities. Youth & Teen Programming focuses on the art-making process to promote children’s curiosity, problem solving, independence and confidence and serves a wide variety of ages and skill levels.
The Youth & Teen Program Manager oversees all programming, evaluation, coordination and policies pertaining to onsite programs, classes, and camps for youth ages 2-18, including the management of related faculty and staff, while promoting creativity, positivity and teamwork. This position will also teach a course load of 5 classes per semester.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching art with children, a general knowledge of various art techniques and materials, be dependable and have a positive and friendly attitude. All art center staff will promote and nurture the education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; providing a safe, supportive, and positive environment conducive to learning; and keeping students informed about various Art Center opportunities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage programs and class offerings for youth and teens for three semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer), including camps, according to the vision and strategy determined by Art Center strategic plan and the Vice President of Education + Innovation.
- Evaluate programs through analysis of student evaluations, enrollment trends, and other qualitative and quantitative data, ensuring programs remain relevant and meet quality standards, and identifying areas for program growth/development.
- Supervise and manage youth and Teen Programs faculty and/or program staff, ensuring strong communication between faculty and administrative staff.
- Assess and address growth/professional development opportunities for faculty.
- Develop and enforce policies pertaining to the operation of youth classes onsite.
- Work collaboratively with other Educational Program managers on shared projects, initiatives and goals.
- The Youth & Teen Program Manager will teach a minimum of 3 classes per semester, no more than 5, except during the summer when the Program Manager oversees all summer camp staff and instructors.
- Monitor all art supplies for Youth & Teen classes and order supplies as needed.

- Respond to emails and/or calls in a timely manner
- Complete, correct and approve timecard in a timely manner
- Interacts with parents and caregivers of students
Competencies Required

Additional Education/Knowledge/Skills Requirements:
- A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in art or art education
- Teaching experience
- Experience working with diverse and underserved audiences preferred
- Classroom and behavior management experience
- CPR Certification preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Occasionally required to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Perform physical tasks of day-to-day camp program
- This position is not a telecommute position and thus, the individual is required to work in person at the Fishers Art Center
- All Team Members must pass a criminal background check prior to employment
Salary Range $40,000-45,000
