YOUTH SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's’ degree and 2 years’ experience in a child caring institution (CCI) is preferred or 2 years of college and 3 years’ experience in a CCI or a high school diploma and 4 years’ experience in a CCI required.
- Physical health adequate for performance of work.

90-DAY REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrate proficiency in WHS technology platforms and applications.
- Completion of Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training, demonstrating proficiency in applying and executing CPI techniques effectively.
- American Red Cross CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Valid Michigan drivers and chauffeur's license or ability to obtain chauffeur’s license.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold all HR and licensing compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and standards for the organization.
- Function as a mandated reporter, as required by Michigan Child Protection Law.
- Coordinate with Staff Development Team to ensure training and development requirements are met via Paycor.
- Participate in all required meetings.
- Oversee and guide clients through a range of daily activities.
- Ensure clients' schedules are followed.
- Maintaining a safe, organized environment to promote client well-being.
- Observe behavior and maintain control of a group in alignment with optimal clinical practices, institutional policies, state licensing regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all client treatment plans and consistently adhere to their implementation.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all client safety plans and consistently adhere to their implementation.
- Role model the use of client-centered interventions.
- Ensure all CBT and CPI criteria are maintained
- Ensure all client interactions are Trauma informed
- Participate in facility cleaning activities to maintain a clean and safe working environment. These duties will include cleaning bathrooms, mopping, sweeping, and other related tasks.
- Provide structure, encouragement and support to clients in the execution of cleanliness and safety activities.
- Review medical waivers, incident reports, safety plans, client logs, and other pertinent internal communications pertaining to assigned clients and groups at the start of each shift.
- Accurately complete and submit all logs, reports, documentation, and incident reports in a timely manner, ensuring they are finalized by the end of the shift with all information submitted to the appropriate supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Coordinate information and communication to appropriate departments via associated systems.
- Facilitate cross-shift communication to apply evidence-based practices and support client success.
- Supervise assigned Youth Specialists.
- Implement daily schedules and ensure Youth Specialist treatment teams are complying.
- Ensure adequate coverage for shifts and assigned duties of team members, maintaining seamless operations and continuity of services.
- Ensure that all ratios are maintained
- Work weekends and/or second shift to manage and supervise a unit or site.
- Other duties, as assigned.
