Montclair is a wonderful town that loves its library. In the last year, visits and program participation have doubled and circulation has increased 50 percent.

We are growing to meet this demand. We are looking for a part-time Page to meet this increasing demand. Now is an excellent time to join our innovative, diverse, congenial staff!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Performs routine tasks to maintain the organization and appearance of the childrens collections
  
• Shelve materials and maintain the organization of the shelves so all materials are neat and can be found in their proper place
  
• Ensure that all materials are easy to access (not too crowded) and that shelves are well labeled
  
• Neaten library as needed, e.g., straighten chairs, put away childrens games and toys. Organize supply cabinet as needed
  
• Retrieve materials for patron reservations
  
• Assist staff as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Able to perform routine tasks without direct supervision
  
• Able to organize materials alphabetically and/or in Dewey Decimal order
  
• Able to bend, lift, carry, walk for a two-hour period while shelving or packing
  
• Behave courteously and helpfully to public and to maintain effective working relationships with library staff
  
• Able to reliably show up for assigned hours and communicate schedule conflicts with supervisor in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS

• Some high school education

WEEKLY SCHEDULE

• Wednesday evening, Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon

SALARY

• $15.13 per hour
