Job Description
The Highland Park Public Library seeks a creative and forward-thinking librarian to join our collaborative Youth Services Department.
Duties: Provides readers advisory and reference assistance to children and their caregivers, including assistance with digital media and technology. Participates in the planning, presentation, and evaluation of engaging programming for children ages birth through 14. Development of assigned collection(s), including material selection, promotion, weeding. Other duties as assigned.
Requires: ALA/MLS. Minimum 1 year of experience in a public library with an emphasis on working with children. Knowledge of children's literature, print, and electronic resources. Knowledge of child development. Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of web technologies and Microsoft Office suite.
Schedule: Part-time (20-25 hours/week) including weekend and evening shifts
Salary: $25.00 - $30.00/hr., D.O.Q.
