Youth Minister

Job Description

About the Role:

Open Bible Baptist Church is praying for and seeking a part-time Youth Leader to serve alongside our team of bi-vocational leaders. We are praying for someone with a passion to connect with youth (6th-12th Grades) and help them grow in their faith. We desire a vibrant leader who will demonstrate a lifestyle of integrity, commitment and dedication to Jesus and our church family. This position reports to the Senior Pastor.

Responsibilities:

● Developing a vibrant and active ministry to the youth (middle school and high school aged) of Open Bible Baptist Church

● Act as the primary visible leader and communicator of all youth Ministry programs within OBBC, and as they relate to the PPBA, CGBC, SBC. Embracing OBBC’s Mission, Vision, and Values

● Communicating Biblical truth in a meaningful and relevant way.

● Oversight of weekly Sunday School programming, weekly/bi-weekly youth group activities and bible studies

● Provide discipleship teaching that is biblically based, displaying a relational model that is designed to guide youth from new believer to an empowered leader within God’s Kingdom

● Facilitate one outreach event per month

● Developing, empowering, leading and growing youth group volunteers

● Engaging with parents about youth activities and bible study

● Coordination with ministry leaders for larger church-wide outreach activities including but not limited to vacation bible school, Christmas programming and Easter programming

● Join OBBC and be an active member of the church

Qualifications:

● Ability to share their testimony on how he or she came to know the Christ as their Lord and Savior

● Ability to share how they are growing in their walk with Christ

● Minimum of 2 years’ experience leading youth ministry in a church setting, preferred

● 2 years experience volunteering in youth ministry

● 3 years of experience working in a collaborative team environment

● Must fully agree with and support OBBC’s Statement of Faith and Doctrinal Statement

● College degree, preferred

● Seminary degree, desired but not required

Job Type: Part time

Pay Rate: $12,000.00 per month
