The Volunteer – Senior Living provides companionship and support services for residents in the Senior Living Community according to their experience and training and in compliance with organization policies.
Position Functions and Responsibilities
- Serves as an integral member of the team at the Senior Living Community.
- May include administrative or office duties.
- Provide emotional support or practical assistance to enhance the comfort and quality of life for residents and families/caregivers, which may include: reading; card games; letter-writing; listening to music; light housekeeping; meal preparation or errands, as requested.
- Maintains open communication and completes documentation of visits, per policy.
Qualifications
- Experienced individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her own mortality and spirituality and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.
- Successful completion of the hospice’s volunteer training and orientation program; annual reviews and ongoing training.
- Previous volunteer experience preferred.
- Ability to work within the interdisciplinary group and uphold Lifesprk policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and appropriate boundaries, in accordance with policies.
