Key Holder - Lansing South (Cedar)

Objective

Assists the Assistant Manager and Shift Managers in nightly operations of the retail store to include responsibility for ensuring security procedures are in place and followed.

Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assist in the daily opening and closing of the Thrift Store

• Direct oversight of opening and closing procedures by delegated staff
• Ensure arming and disarming of security systems
• Ensure that the store is safely secured until the next opening
• May handle cash and deposits in the absence of the manager

2. Customer Service

• Assist customers when and if needed
• Assist cashiers when necessary

3. Additional responsibilities

• May supervise staff in the absence of the manager
• Develop and follow consistent methods for appropriately communicating to managers
• Record and report daily sales figures to the Store Manager
• Maintain safe working/shopping conditions for employees and customers
• Maintain current knowledge of agency and store policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with VOA Michigan policies and procedures
• Ensure that all duties are carried out in a timely and orderly fashion so that VOA Michigan functions in the most efficient manner possible
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma and two years combined retail and supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of retail and/or store management, including personnel, cash, operation of cash registers and basic security
• Management and analytical skills set essential
• Computer literacy preferred
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Must maintain a valid Michigan drivers license and driving record that meets insurability requirements
