JOB TITLE: Director of Volunteers

REPORTS TO: Executive Director

STATUS: Hourly, 24-38 hours per week ________________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY: The Director of Volunteers performs duties relative to providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the organization, specifically focusing on volunteer relations.

Key areas of responsibility include: recruiting, coordinating, and overseeing volunteers; connecting and engaging with churches to create partnerships.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Volunteer Relations

  • Help improve JC Cares’ effectiveness by identifying and tracking JC Cares’ volunteer needs.
  • Recruit the volunteers needed for our JC Cares programs, including our Biblical Counseling program, Art program, JC Works, Prayer Team, and JC Connects.
  • Oversee and equip the volunteer leader over each program.
  • Build a strong volunteer program by effectively managing the onboarding of Volunteers, including applications, background screenings, and placement.
  • Keep a schedule of when each volunteer is coming in, including Care Coaches and JC Works volunteers, and make sure they have space to serve.
  • Coordinate and lead volunteer orientation meetings.
  • Oversee the tracking of volunteer hours and the active and inactive status of Volunteers.
  • Increase volunteer motivation and impact by overseeing volunteer involvement and caring for volunteers.
  • Develop, plan, and lead a volunteer appreciation event annually.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and execution of JC Cares’ events, including Celebration Night, JC Works Graduation, and New Creation fundraiser.
  • Promote the ministry of JC Cares through assistance with social media, email newsletter, end-of-year campaign and website updates, especially highlighting volunteers who serve and areas where we need volunteers.
  • Assist Executive Director in church partnerships by setting up speaking engagements with church leaders and staff and assisting with logistics.
  • Attend Leadership Team and Staff meetings, at the request of the Executive Director.
  • Assist Executive Director with other duties, as assigned.
