You will make an impact in our education system. Our YMCA's Expanded Learning Program is seeking Site Coordinators to lead our teams and work with kids (K-6th Grade) in our YMCA's Expanded Learning Program for the 2023-2024 school year!
Site Coordinators start in August and end in June. As a full-time leader, your typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 10:00am-6:30pm. You will be assigned to work at a school site in:
- Richmond
- El Sobrante
Compensation: $31/hour (full-time, non-exempt)

You will work with your team and the program leadership team to provide physical, academic, and creativity enrichment opportunities to the kids in our YMCA Expanded Learning (ELP) program. About the YMCA Expanded Learning Program
We work with schools in West Contra Costa and Oakland to create Afterschool Programming that focus on student enrichment in creativity, academic, and physical play. Together, we guide underserved children and families to reach their full potential.
Your Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead team and program towards meeting goals/objectives
- Review, evaluate, and revise objectives throughout the year
- Provide leadership coaching and management to your team at the school site
- Train and guide new ELP team members
- Do program observations and assessments to improve on program quality
- Be the lead contact to school contacts, community partners, and program staff
- Manage and coordinate program budgets
- Collect accurate program data and measurements to show progress, success, and learnings
- Attend required trainings to become competent in managing the program
- Research and implement best practice strategies and emerging approaches for before and after school
- Assist with other projects as needed

Your Qualifications:
- Have 48 college units or completion of the Instructional Aid (IA) Exam
- Have at least 2 years of experience with youth development and programming
- Have at least 1 year of experience in staff/volunteer and program management
- Have a car to travel to meetings and training sites
- Demonstrate effective conflict resolution, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Possess ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Have proficiency in computer and database programs necessary to perform the duties of the job (Google Drive, AirTable, Zoom, etc)
- Obtain CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date
- Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check
