Writer / Producer, Political Projects (Contract)

Location: D.C., New York, Chicago, Denver (Hybrid), remote considered based on experience

As a Writer / Producer, Political Projects at BPI, you will help develop, write and produce political video ads and social content (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) for Democratic campaigns and causes. The ideal contract candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is capable of working independently while navigating multiple projects.

In this role, you will:

• Help elect Democrats to office across the country
• Write and produce video ads and content for BPI’s clients, including candidates, campaigns and causes
• Write video scripts for digital paid ads and organic social content
• Set up video shoots, both in-person and remotely, across the country; comfortable managing budgets ranging from $10k to $100k
• Work collaboratively across our creative and account teams to produce video ads and content of the highest quality
• Track multiple projects simultaneously and ensure we’re delivering on time and on budget
• Work quickly and efficiently during breaking news events

The ideal candidate brings:

• 4-6 years of production experience at an agency or production house; political campaign experience is a big bonus
• Experience producing digital video ads and social content; experience producing social-first political or news content for social channels like Instagram or TikTok a plus
• An understanding of the ins-and-outs of what makes a good production: You know how keep the trains running; creative problem solve; and deliver videos on time and under budget
• Experience developing timelines for production and post production
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail- you aren’t afraid to ask questions or say what you need to get a project done, and you don’t make the same mistake twice
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal oversight
• Late night and weekend work may be required

• Pay- $50-$75 / hour, commensurate with experience
